Back to School Goals 2014-2015

I got back from NY Friday night and have missed my blogging (both reading and writing). I am VERY happy to be back in NC!!!

To get back into the groove of things I am linking up with I {heart} Recess for her Back to School Goals Linky!

I was not blogging last year so I can't reflect on my goals last year, so let's dive into my goals for the 2014-2015 school year!

Personal: In March I went for my annual exam and realized just how overweight I was. I mean I always knew, but never did anything about it. But, now I am beyond happy where my life is and want to be more healthy so I can be around for it more! In March I joined the online weight watchers program and have lost 32.6 pounds since then! I hope to be down 100 by March!

Organization: I love to be organized and have labels on everything, it just makes me happy. However this past school year it did not show. I blame part of it on moving into my class room less than 48 hours before kids would be arriving. However even if that happens again I will be ready. Everything with have a place and everything will go in that place!

Planning: This year my plans were not very detailed and I know if I add more details I will teach better. Plus, if something happens and I can't be there one day. my sub's life will be easier.

Professional: I am from upstate NY and the teacher evaluation there is different from NC. I was not ready to set good goals and throughout the year just did not care. This summer I want to sit down and really think and pick out 2 goals for this year and work my bum off in accomplishing!

Students: This past year I did reading centers and the Science Weekly Five (love the Science Penguin!). My kids loved this times, but were not always working to what I thought they should be. This was because I was not very clear in my expectations and then making sure they lived up to them.

Motto: I have loved this line from Adele since the moment I heard it. I try to live my life this way and do the things that people don't think I can/will. Well that drives me to show them wrong and become a better person. It also helps to remind myself not to beat myself down, thinking I can't do something. I want to be better at living this way and helping my students do the same.
